We are heading for new playgrounds. Hardangervidda has been great and treated us nice, but it`s time to move on from Northern Europe`s greatest mountain plateau to something new, exciting and unknown.
“The hardest part of moving forward is not looking back”
So far all editions of Salomon Xreid have been different, the first year we launched this experience with a distance of 155 k.
The next year we followed up with a 123 k distance and in 2015 all participants experienced 128 remote kilometers of the best Hardangervidda had to offer.
Three years – three different routes, but with the same mountain finish.
Our vision when we created Salomon Xreid was to create something different, a race without a course record - a race where providing you with experiences you will share with your grandchildren with joy and pride when you are 80 years old was the main objective. We now realize that to stay true to our vision, we will have to expand our playground. By doing so, we are able to provide you with the opportunity for being a part of our experience year after year knowing you will have new playgrounds to explore. Our vision is to create races with no boundaries.
Hot of the press – 2016
So, what to expect in 2016?
We will not be at Hardangervidda, but we will for sure be in Norway.
The date for next years race will be Friday July 1st – Sunday July 3rd.
The experience will be limited to 200 participants.
There will be an individual and a team class.
The distance of next year’s event will be within the 100 – 160 k range.
The route will not be marked, but will mainly follow established trails.
The application process
The race manual will be launched December 20th. Before you apply for this event, you should read this document carefully.
The application process will be open from January 2nd – January 9th. The application process will not be a first come – first serve process. If more than 200 applications received, there will be a lottery among the qualified appliers.
